Espresso maker reviews – How Much Does the Best Espresso Machine for Home Cost
Most first-time buyers are looking for the best espresso machines for home within a certain budget. Frequently this budget is between $50 – $500.
At the lower end of the spectrum ($50-$200) are the very cheapest machines. They are usually steam-driven and made out of plastic. For the most part, these machines do not produce very good espresso (if you can even call it espresso) and break quite easily as per my opinion and experience.
Last year my sister was looking for an affordable espresso because her budget was only $200 and we were looking for decent pump-driven non plastic espresso machines that generate good espresso.
We used Amazon.com for our initial research and we narrowed down to three home espresso makers: the DeLonghi BAR 32, the Cuisinart EM-100, and the DeLonghi EC 702. All of the machines were pump-driven and the Cuisinart EM-100 and the DeLonghi EC 702 were stainless stainless (the DeLonghi BAR 32 was plastic).

I eventually selected the Cuisinart EM-100 because to me it offered the perfect balance between price and quality and stood out as the best espresso machine under 200 dollars. Although the DeLonghi Bar 32 was cheaper, it was also made out of plastic.
